Kerwan, Product Manager for Itineo at RAPIDO GROUP went with his friends to Haute-Savoie (Praz-sur-Arly), a region of eastern France bordering with Switzerland in order to test the low-profile Rapido 696F at the foot of the slopes.
Leaving Laval, here we go for nearly 850 km and 11h00 drive; we will have a break in Mâcon. On the road, the driving position is simple and ergonomic, and the engine 150ch (option) is very pleasant to drive and silent. The seats are comfortable and easy to adjust. Converting the bench seats in travel seats is effortless, thanks to the inclusive backseats.
Once settled, the vehicle is equipped with many well-sized storage spaces for 4 people. All our meals were taken around the table of the motorhome. The living room is spacious, we move easily thanks to the face-to-face layout. Beds are comfortable and the electrically drop down bed (option) is easy to handle. The insulating cold-weather cab cladding ensures maximum protection as it combats thermal exchanges in the vehicle as well as the formation of condensation on the windscreen.
When coming back from the ski slopes, we really enjoyed the large heated garage (108 x 114cm) that allows skis and shoes to be stored and dried.
This mountain trip has given us the opportunity to test the RAPIDO 696F in winter conditions, as the "Beast from the East" cold snap was hitting Europe and temperatures have reached -19°C ! The TRUMA CP+ heating system and its digital control panel were valuable allies.
Moreover, thanks to TRUMA iNet, it was possible to control the heating system with our smartphone. Thus, we were able to increase the temperature, directly from the slopes, before the skiers came back! (SIM card not included)
